How many of us would have been as brave as John McCain was as a POW?

Forgetting politics for a moment many bashers seem to forget McCain's heroic way he handled himself as a POW. Even the media and even President Carter down played his self sacrifice. Even Obama acknowledges McCain as a hero. Why do many people still want to put a negative slant on his POW experience?
